EnFAIT is Europe’s flagship tidal energy project funded by EU Horizon 2020. The project brings together a consortium of global blue chip companies led by Nova Innovation. The aim is to reduce the cost of tidal energy by at least 40% by improving the technology as it doubles the capacity of the array and improving our understanding about the tide through pioneering R&D.
Tidal energy is the only source of renewable energy that is predictable to the minute, days, months and years ahead. It also has no visual impact on the landscape because Nova’s underwater turbine sit on the seabed.
