Easy Harvest
The founding team of Easy Harvest is built by two characters from two different nationalities. Francisco, the CEO, did his MSc in Aquaculture in the University of Algarve (2017-2019), where he developed skills and contacts between the local aquaculture industry and research fellows and government institutes. His network created over 5 years in the aquaculture field provides a world range of contacts within industry and research. Moreover, Francisco possesses extensive knowledge and experience on Ulva sp farming and biology (MSc thesis).
Emilia studied her BA (Hons) in Events Management in a seaside town in Bournemouth, UK. Her passion for the seas and oceans has always landed her in places close to the water. Innovative solutions benefiting the environment have always been something she has found inspiring. Learning more about the seaweed sector has allowed her to combine her interests while applying her knowledge and harnessing her educational background. Emilia’s experience complements the biology with the economy and management organization and pragmatisms.
Easy Harvest focuses on the commercialization of seaweed from the south coast of Portugal, the Algarve. The concept of Easy Harvest originated from the will to valorize an abundant Portuguese resource, seaweed. Easy Harvest focuses on the valorization of seaweed biomass through the monitorization and harvesting of wild macroalgae blooms.
Macroalgae bloom management using mechanical wild harvesting method. Easy Harvest is supplying both Ulva sp and Asparagopsis sp biomass sourced from the blooms. Both species' biomass will be supplied in both fresh weight and in dry weight, whole leaf, powdered or in flakes.
