Problem we are solving
The lack of a proper automated and integrated system leads to delays, unpredictability, port
congestion, and supply chain disruptions. Which leads to the rise in shipping freight of goods and cargoes. This results in higher final prices and
costs for businesses, trade and consumers in everyday life.
The rise in freight from 2023 to 2024 is due to port congestion, delays, and unpredictability which is attributed to factors such as a lack of
integrated system for end-to-end shipping operations. This rise in freight increases inflation by 1.5 % according to the IMF International
Monetary Fund. About 80 percent of the world’s trade is carried by ships. There has been a steady rise in freight cost from 2021 and currently
2024 the freight rate for the shipping route from Asia to Northern Europe is up by 173 % to 4391 USD for Forty-Foot-Equivalent units. From the
start of the journey, the Maritime Counselor integrates the operations of the ship from the seaport where the journey begins by digitally
connecting the ship operations to seaport services by route optimization for the ship’s journey. Route optimization helps shipping companies
save time and money. Route optimization benefits businesses and customers with accurate delivery and helps to predict bottlenecks before it
happens which helps in reducing delays and unpredictability. The competitive advantage or differentiation of the Maritime Counselor from the
current solutions in the market today. The current solution in the market focused solely on ship operations automation, while our solutions in
addition to the ship operations, the Maritime Counselor also integrate ship operations to seaport services- to the availability of port facilities,
equipment and services that can accommodate a ship at a given time and moment. Also, our route optimization is integrated with port services
the type of port, the state of the port, and the facilities of the port to ensure a fit of the ship operations to the port operations. This helps in
reducing delays and waiting time because it ensures the timely fit of ship operations to the availability of port facilities and operations.
The Maritime Counselor solves this problem by integrating digitally the touchpoints in the supply chain addressing the root cause of delays and
unpredictability from the start of the journey to the end of the journey. So, at the start of the journey the Maritime counselor automates the
operations, reports, and predicts the best route and conditions in the seaport to avoid delays and unpredictability and manages the operations
of the ships during the journey.
