Alveus d.o.o.

Combining the knowledge of naval architecture, material sciences, and mechanical engineering, the COMPA method features the application of carbon (CFRP) and glass fibres mixed with epoxy resin/adhesive onto a damaged surface. By curing, the resin hardens and bonds to the surface permanently. The resin impregnated fibres bonded to the surface of the damaged part reinstate it to its original strength. Finally, this procedure creates a solid new layer of material that provides full water tightness.

Our team provides COMPA Repairs service while future development is based on the sales of licences (for service and the software).

Problem we are solving
COMPA repair method results with the reduction of CO2 emissions released into the atmosphere as it doesn't give vessels additional weight and avoids additional ship navigation needed for traditional repair methods.

Sustainable Impact on Blue Ecconomy
A COMPA repair is fast, durable, applicable to complex surface geometry and confined spaces and can be applied on-board while the vessel is on route to its destination. Affordable! Cheaper than traditional cut (over 80% on a project basis) and insert procedures, reduces maintenance costs Safe! No hot works involved. There is no need to degasify tanks, or remove linings, ceilings, etc. or other flammable material Fast! As there is no need to cut and crop damaged material, it can be applied also during operation Flexible! Can be applied to any place reachable by human hand and it does not demand heavy and expensive equipment for application Durable! Epoxy is resistant to osmosis so the expected lifetime can be measured in decades Reliable! As it exhibits good fatigue resistance Robust! Does not cause stress concentrations it actually reduces them Light! Low added weight Time saving! Can be used on board without a need to stop very suitable for emergency repairs
