Gazelle Wind Power Limited

Gazelle Wind Power was founded to exploit patented technology for a unique floating offshore wind platform that significantly reduces the weight, size, and cost of existing floating platforms and mooring systems.  Gazelle Wind Power will license the technology to energy Project Developers, EPCs, or Wind Turbine OEMs, for the construction, installation, and operation of floating wind platforms globally. The Gazelle platform offers significant (30%) cost savings over currently deployed platforms whilst minimizing the environmental impact on the seabed.  The company is currently building its demonstrator plant in Agucadoura, Portugal. The platform design also has the potential for significant adjacent application such as sub-stations or green hydrogen, together with upstream and downstream expansion.

GEA@275™ Oceanic Carbon Capture Protocol

We are developing an ocean carbon dioxide removal method. We will initiate the formation of marine snow in the Southern Ocean. This method can remove over one billion tons of atmospheric CO2 annually. The carbon will be stored on the deep sea floor in the form of organic compound for more than thousand years. We can sell carbon removals on the voluntary carbon market. We know how to make and control the growth of marine snow in the lab, and have a pending patent application on the gea@275 methodology. Before we can test it in the ocean, we need to learn more about the ocean carbon fluxes. This knowledge is currently limited by technology. We have therefore developed an automated water column monitoring system, AlgID, which can replace water sampling and lab analysis. With this sensor fusion and AI system, we can collect big data in real time. This is the only way to increase researchers understanding of the ocean carbon fluxes. The AlgID system can also be calibrated to monitor and predict harmful algal blooms, which is an increasing problem for the aquaculture-, fisheries and tourism industry. The salmon farming industry is loosing billions of dollars annually due to mass fish mortality caused by toxic algal blooms.

GKinetic Energy Ltd

GKinetic wishes to become the go-to supplier of distributed hydro solutions that can unlock clean energy from free flowing water just about anywhere and within a matter of hours. 80% of the market for distributed-scale hydrokinetic energy generation remains untapped, representing a minimum 6 million of the company’s market-ready 12kW units. To win just 1% market share would mean sales of 60,000 units and €3.84 billion in turnover. The design can be scaled up to MW tidal applications and this is part of the company's product roadmap. It is the company’s vision to see large-scale deployment of its turbines all over the world, directly contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. The company wants to make a significant impact in the fight against climate change by opening up the market of local hydrokinetic generation. GKinetic is a firm believer in the large scale roll-out of hydrokinetic solutions as a key player in distributed energy systems giving power independence and control to end users from the only renewable generation source that is 100% predictable.
