Smart-Ship: enabling sustainable sailing regardless of the energy source

At Smart-Ship we increase situational awareness, safety and efficiency during (remote) maritime operations by implementing force-feedback technology on ship controls - using a different sensory channel we allow the operator to receive information through guiding forces and vibrations in the control levers while keeping focused at his task. In short, our force-feedback levers can be linked to any kind of sensor data (PMS, radar, engine settings etc.) which can then be transferred to the operator through a dynamic force, vibration or detent in real-time. Currently we implement this technology to ensure operators are using their respective vessel in the most energy efficient way, regardless of the energy source they're using for the propulsion of the vessel. We inform the operator on optimal cruising speed and when another generator/fuel cell/battery pack will be started. Thereby we create full sustainable awareness for the operator. Our technology can be implemented on any kind of vessel, ranging from yachts and leisure boats to cargo vessels and workboats.

SOUTH AGRO SRL

We extract phytochemicals substances from seaweeds around the world to obtain biostimulants that help farmers and growers to obtain better results from their plants and in particular to overcome climatic stresses. We have understood that it is possible to obtain several products from several seaweeds and so we have a quite large network of seaweeds producers on our agenda. At the same time, we believe that the potentiality of Mediterranean seaweeds is totally unexplored in this regard. So we are also engaged in the cultivation of seaweeds in the Mediterranean region that can have different use as well as for agricultural use.
