Oceanloop

Crusta Nova, an innovative company from Bavaria, that breeds saltwater shrimp in a land-based aquaculture recirculation system and is a trader of high-quality and sustainable seafood. In times of globalized supply chains, Crusta Nova sees itself as a pioneer of future-oriented, sustainable and transparent food production. As one of the few worldwide pioneers, the company has developed special know-how in the breeding of turnkey, land-based and site-independent aquacultures for saltwater shrimp. With the help of the state-of-the-art software-supported recirculation technology developed by Crusta Nova, it is possible to bring the sea to Bavaria and offer a shrimp farmed in Germany that meets the demands of modern consumers. The Bavarian shrimp is available in the best fish counters and top restaurants in Germany and Austria. Among gourmets, the Bavarian shrimp is considered the preferred choice due to its firm texture and sweet, nutty taste. Its sashimi quality convinces every gourmet and even allows raw consumption. The Bavarian shrimp is bred species-appropriate with low stocking densities and without antibiotics where it is consumed. Avoiding long transport routes, the shrimp are reared by hand and with great respect for the living creature, completely free of artificial additives and particularly high-quality food from sustainable sources. In the sustainable farm, the climate of the mangrove forests of South America, the natural habitat and home of the shrimp, is reproduced in a closed system in 8 breeding ponds. Fresh water consumption is minimized by 4 separate water circuits with their own, purely biological water treatment. At 29 degrees water temperature and 30 degrees air temperature, 30 tons of White Tiger Shrimp grow annually from the post larvae to market size. Furthermore, Crusta Nova operates a "House of Brands" B2B seafood platform and a B2C e-commerce portal with high quality and sustainable seafood and fish. The company stands for excellent quality and sustainable catching/breeding and has been able to establish itself as one of the leading suppliers of high quality seafood in the market in a short period of time. For the most part Crusta Nova is the exclusive distribution partner of worldwide suppliers for Germany and Austria. The suppliers are carefully selected. All of them have unique qualities in their product category and have already established their brand and history in other parts of the world. Crusta Nova offers these brands the opportunity to offer their products in the best restaurants and fish counters, as well as through their own B2C Seafood e-commerce portal in Germany and Austria. With its sustainable and contemporary business model, Crusta Nova meets eight UN goals for sustainable development, including No. 14 "Life under water", No. 13 "Climate protection measures", No. 12 "Sustainable consumption and production", No. 9 "Industry, innovation and infrastructure", No. 3 "Health and well-being" and No. 2 "No hunger". In addition to financial returns, Crusta Nova thus achieves measurable, beneficial social and environmental progress for society and the planet.
