About Us
Ace Aquatec was a family run business, which has been developed by Nathan Pyne-Carter into an investor backed global business, with AquaSpark and Chroma Ventures backing its series A round. It now has legal entities in Norway, Australia, Chile and Canada, as well as its head office in Dundee, and 32 employees. It has won many global innovation awards for its products, including humane electric fish stunners, underwater A.I. biomass cameras, wildlife friendly seal deterrents, and a portal providing fish farmers a full view from grow out to harvest. We are currently raising a series B round.

Problem we are solving
Over 2 billion fish are killed each year, with no humane death. Our humane stunning solution will ensure farmed and wild caught fish are killed humanely within 1 second, and that the system is capable of operating sustainably with no environmental impact. This will open up the technology for farms less industrialised around the world.

Sustainable Impact on Blue Ecconomy
Fish are stunned in water, as opposed to in air; this ensures zero stress and handling, better quality and a higher price for farmers. Alternative systems, either stun electrically in air, which can cause pre shock and blood spotting, or using pneumatic hammers which need careful adjustment according to the size of fish being stunned. This leads to around 10-50% of fish being hit ineffectively and inhumanely.
