Climate change create an urgent need for emission-free electric propulsion in marine applications.
On the market existing powertrains for marine applications are based on conventional technology. This means that in applications with inboard motors/stern drive and outboard motors the traditional combustion engine in principle is replaced by an ordinary electric motor; still requiring shafts, gearbox and a cooling system, ending up in a bulky, heavy and inefficient driveline with many parts requiring maintenance.
Zparq’s marine motors are significantly smaller than all alternatives on the market. The light design reduces raw material and CO2 footprint with more than 50% in production, and the products are from start designed with a circular approach, thus reducing the environmental impact over the entire life cycle.
The scalability and modularity of Zparq's technology enables product offerings in segments where there are no submersible high-power motors today. This makes the Zparq motor very versatile and cost efficient as the same technology can be used in many different applications and market segments.
