We are developing an innovative underwater communication system designed for divers. It uses bone conduction technology to transmit sound directly through the skull, ensuring clear audio without obstructing the ears. A fully waterproof microphone captures speech reliably even in harsh underwater conditions. Finally, our advanced speech enhancement algorithm improves intelligibility by reducing noise and optimizing voice clarity, making communication effective in challenging acoustic environments.

About Us
Gabriel co-founded 52 Hertz and currently serves as the COO. He holds a Master’s in Nuclear Physics from Université Paris‑Saclay and obtained the “Étudiant‑entrepreneur” diploma from CELSA under the Pépites program at Sorbonne Université and Université Paris‑Saclay. Gabriel initiated the project alongside his brother to bridge the gap in underwater communication and continues to lead the company’s strategic and technical development. [52-hertz.fr], [52-hertz.fr]
Jonas is CEO and co-founder of 52 Hertz. He earned a Master’s in Innovation Management from Sorbonne Université and an Engineering Master’s in Renewable Energy Sciences & Engineering from Mines ParisTech. He previously worked in Sorbonne Université’s Research & Innovation department before transitioning into leadership at 52 Hertz.

Problem we are solving
Underwater environments lack reliable voice communication, forcing divers to rely on hand signals or pre-arranged gestures, which are limited and prone to misunderstanding. Our technology brings real-time, intelligible voice communication to a domain where it has never been practical, improving safety, coordination, and operational efficiency for professional, scientific, and defense diving missions.

Sustainable Impact on Blue Ecconomy
Our technology delivers the first truly practical underwater voice communication system that combines three unique strengths: seamless integration with standard diving gear, bone conduction for clear audio without obstructing the ears, and advanced speech enhancement algorithms for maximum intelligibility in noisy underwater environments. This approach improves safety, coordination, and mission efficiency while remaining sustainable through robust, reusable hardware and low-maintenance design.

Financial NeedsOur current financing need is estimated at approximately €1,800,000 to €2,500,000. This funding will cover the finalization of hardware prototyping, optimization of our speech enhancement algorithms, certification processes, initial production for pilot deployments, and the structuring of a dedicated commercial team.
